Big Special, the duo of Joe Hicklin and Callum Moloney, have experienced a meteoric rise in the UK music scene.
Their first London headline show took place on August 9, 2023, at the Dublin Castle, with only one single—Shithouse—to their name. Fast forward about 20 months, and they’re performing to 2,300 fans at the O2 Forum Kentish Town, celebrating the success of their debut album Postindustrial Hometown Blues, which debuted in the UK Top 40. They’ve since played major festivals and shared stages with iconic acts like Pixies, Placebo, and Sleaford Mods. Despite the rapid growth, they remain grounded, driven by a deep bond and a commitment to authenticity. Their strength lies in their brotherhood and the unfiltered honesty of their art.
